Hey Xyliacs.
Again, I apologize for the delay on this week’s second update. I really appreciate your patience. Thank you to those of you who emailed and left well wishes, that really means so much. I hope to get back on track soon. I also want to thank everyone for your generosity again this month. We have reached our goal yet again! Thank you. Any donations received now roll into next month’s goal, and as always there are giftsto choose from. Once I get to feeling better, I hope to get a couple wallpapers up, and of course the new chapter of Nigel’s Opus as well.
Have a wonderful weekend.

This was a great update! I love this comic since I found it a bit over a month ago and I must say you have a great story unfolding. Great job!
Sylvain
PS: No appologies needed for the late udate, we know you are working on it.

My sweet, sweet Livy…. Does she have any canine-family there? If so, can we see them?
June 27th, 2008 at 9:36 pm
Family? GAH! What is it with you webcomic authors and weekend cliffhangers? It’s a conspiracy, I says!
Anyway, I love how Livy is all like, “Hey — I’VE been with him for like ten years, man! Where the heck were you? Here, that’s right, so shut up.” And the bonus, we’re now officially heading towards that one awesome ad pic from last month!
Anyway, I’ll fill in for the topic question: WHO ARE YOUR FAVORITE AUTHORS?
Stephen King tops, followed by Tolkien, Rowling, and Peter David
(Hope someone reads that……)
June 28th, 2008 at 1:41 am
favourite authors… hmm… good question !
I suppose it depends on the moment.
I love David Gemmell, because I’m fond of his “not so perfect” heroes. I like Terry Pratchett too, and HP Lovecraft (his sorcery stories are the best !), Anne Rice because I’m in love with the vampire Lestat, and some french authors : Brussolo and his “Meute hurlante” (means “howling pack” and is a werewolves story), Fred Vargas…
Yeah, I know, there are much of them… ^^
June 28th, 2008 at 4:21 am
I second Pom Rania’s comment.
Favorite authors… I can just say I like what is completely illogical until you abandon your assumptions. Douglas Adams was a Master of it.
June 28th, 2008 at 4:50 am
Awesomesauce! Now Claudius is officially in the ballgame! ^o^ *w00t*
Heh, yeah I read your comment Brent…as to favorite authors…I have more of those than I do singers/bands! ^///^
I’ll only list a few from the top of my list…Terry Pratchett, Patricia C. Wrede, Robin McKinely, Brian Jaques, Eoin Colfer, Max Brand, Carole Nelson Douglas, Rita Mae Brown, Christopher Paolini, J.R.R. Tolkien–and those are just a few! (I tell ya, the list goes on for MILES…
June 28th, 2008 at 5:57 am
Well, as long it’s being read, here’s some I forgot — Max Brooks, CS Lewis, Christopher Pike, Douglas Adams, James Patterson (Alex Cross is badass), Michael Crichton, and Frank Miller
June 28th, 2008 at 8:03 am
Brent, thank you for posting a topic. ^_^ Sadly, I don’t read much. I wish I had time, but I just don’t. I love Rowling and I actually really enjoyed reading the Lemony Snicket books to my kids. I enjoy Grisham too. And McCaffrey’s Pern books.
Dr. Suess will always be a favorite.
June 28th, 2008 at 8:13 am
Oww yeah ! Douglas Adams is great ! Don’t panic, guys ! ^^

Hi Barb, I love the comic, and would like to talk about the heroine, The question is,
how do I pronounce her name? Is it Zillia or Zeyelia?
I always think that people like having their names pronounced correctly…
And I may be anal-retentive..
June 28th, 2008 at 11:28 am
My “french style” pronounciation would be : “Ksiliya”. Personnal interpretation ! ^^

Well, since day one I pronounced her name Zee – lee -uh but CT always said ZYE-lee-uh which I looked up and saw is the actualy pronunciation. I really like Ksiliya! That’s kinda cool.

Do I even need to tell you how much I love this page? Surely it gets a tad monotonous.
June 28th, 2008 at 6:51 pm
Ah, Seuss…..so wonderful. And HORTON HEARS A WHO was actually a pretty good movie!
And yeah, I go with Zye-Lee-Uh.
June 28th, 2008 at 8:35 pm
I LOVE THE GRAPHICS THEY ARE AMAZING. I JUST READ THE COMIS AND IM IN LOVE…IM VERY CURIOUS THOUGH TO HAVE FOUND OUT THAT HE HAS A FAMILY THAT HE HADNT REMEMBERED.. I HOPE THERE WILL BE MORE EMAIL ME IF YOU CAE TO TELL ME THE NEW UPDATE I LOOK FORWARD TO IT
June 29th, 2008 at 4:53 am
I actually thought of it as Ksylia from the beginning – I’m something of a fan of consonant clusters. Who here can’t say “phenolphthaleine”?
June 29th, 2008 at 6:49 am
My most usual pronunciation is like z-EYE-lee-ahhh.
But sometimes it is like my vietnanese friend Xi-Nam,
which would be rendered phonetically a bit like
qsEE-lee-yah, where the q is deep in the
throat, even deeper than the “c” in cat. Also toyed
with the Mayan sound of Xc, which is remotely
like sh-k or esh-q.
June 29th, 2008 at 6:51 am
btw, interesting things happen if one sits in front
of a candle in the dead of night, with Xylia banner
and repeatedly invokes her name. Get a few clues
as to why our long drink of water, Claudius is so
fetched with her.
