Great page ! Makes me wonder a lot about the fate of our nice couple. How have they escaped ?
I’m getting Xylia-addict. ^^

Hmmm. I’m guessing Xenor is Xylia’s father. Cool page, I’m looking forward to next week.

Oh, dear. Whenever I’ve read about someone calling themselves a living god, it’s never ended well for the general populace they’re ruling. Ever. (Except for the Egyptian Pharoahs, but I distrust any tradition that means there aren’t really any marriage prospects for you except one of your siblings. Or possibly your uncle or aunt. Or – ack – your grandfather)
Also, I rather suspected that Xenor was related to our favourite lithified faerie. It’s like you said, Barb; there are only so many purple characters in this thing.

I guess Xenor is Xylias father…I spy some purple on him.
Could the relationship of Xylia and Claudius be of some harm to Deimos I wonder?
Really nice page Barb, I love all the fairies! Ambriosa and Phanessa look awesome!

Dude fairies!!

eee! The plot thickens!

I hate it when the bad guys think they’re right …
August 25th, 2008 at 9:42 pm
But Lea, those are always the best stories!
August 25th, 2008 at 11:44 pm
Oh I get it know he’s not Xylias evil twin he’s her missguided father.
I’m already excited about next page. One never know what you will do Barb, that’s one of the reasons to why Xylia is so great.

Awesome page, Barb…..and thanks for the guys with wings!

Most people or creatures or whatever who are doing something ‘wrong’ think they are doing something right. Whether it’s right for anyone other than themselves is debatable. It’s all about motivation.
Xenor is not the bad guy in this story. The bad guy (well one of them) is coming up soon… He really isn’t a bad guy. He does some dumb stuff though, but again he is motivated by the idea that he is doing the ‘right thing’.
I’m glad some of you are enjoying the manfaeries or guys with wings- which I think is pretty cool description.

I love this page- Barb, you can take all the time you want if this is what comes out in the end!
I wonder what is that red ruby on the fairies forehead- does it mean they work for Demios? Who is Demios? I also have a designer question: the green guy has green clothes, hair and wings. The orange lady has the same. So does Xenor (hmmm where did I see an “X” in this story?). Why Panesea and Ambeosia don’t look like that? Panesea Ora is green, right? But what is Ambrosia’s ora?
August 27th, 2008 at 5:04 pm
Ambrosia is not a fairy, but a sorcerer — from what I understand.

“Living Gods” are ALWAYS bad news…
I DO detect a family resemblance between Xylia and Xenor! (besides the obvious purple hair.)
His name bears striking similarity, and his facial features do too–it’s a bit like looking at a male Xylia! XD (…though not as creepy as that might sound…) O,o

Covering the people who keep asking in real-life, Deimos (when not talking about the second moon of Mars or the setting of the first third of the original “Doom”) was the son of Ares and Aphrodite in Greek mythology and the twin brother of Phobos, and often attended his father on the battlefield. Things to maybe think abuot when theorizing on our Deimos…

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I have gotten a few ‘confused readers’ with this scene, so I posted an explanitory thread here: http://xyliatales.ning.com/forum/topic/show?id=2000576%3ATopic%3A11098

I absolutely love your comic. The artwork is beautiful and it’s obvious you put a lot of time and effort into it. Fantastic work.
